Ladies, Inspire Other Women to Empower Themselves

Women have come a long way when it comes to business. Once upon a time, society denied women the opportunity of having a career other than staying at home, bearing children and tending to their families while their husbands worked, provided all the financial support and made the decisions about their direction and future. While being a housewife is a noble role to maintain a household, it doesn't provide a woman with her own money, education and financial independence.

The past turn of the century has seen progressive women prominently leading and owning million-dollar companies; being powerhouses in the cut-throat political arena; being champions in basketball and other sporting industries; working side-by-side with men in construction, trucking, military and other careers previously dominated by men; and starting small businesses from their homes or rented offices.

Women are versatile. They can be soft as kittens in personal settings with their families and friends yet hard as nails when conducting business. All women are part of an unofficial sisterhood. While they don't all share the same biological parents, their gender has long been the underdog legally denied equal opportunities to paid employment, voting and serving in the military. Although not necessarily based on laws, no woman (as of this writing in 2026) has ever achieved certain statuses in the sports industry and political arena. It could be due to coincidence or the majority of public opinion.

As of March 2026, America has yet to elect its first female President of the United States. Kamala Harris, who served as Vice President to President Joe Biden from January 2021 through January 2025, ran for President of the United States in the November 2024 election and fell short by just over two million votes of defeating her opponent Donald Trump.

Several public discussion forums claimed--although unfounded--that a majority of men weren't ready to accept granting any female the power and influence to make decisions on behalf of a country as prestigious as America. It's also notable that several discussion forums claimed Kamala may have lost due to her race, which is a mixture of Black and South Asian American, even though America had already elected its first Black president, Barack Obama, who served two terms from 2009 through 2017.

Hillary Clinton, wife of former President Bill Clinton, ran for President of the United States twice: first in 2008 and ultimately conceded the Democratic nomination to Barack Obama, and again in 2016 and ultimately conceded the presidency to Donald Trump. Although she won the popular vote in 2016, she lost the election based on Electoral College results. Several public discussion forums theorized she may have lost due to her gender, but they almost equally claimed she may have lost due to multiple scandals, particularly related to private email accounts when she served as Secretary of State from 2009 through 2013.

I would be remiss in not mentioning that several other females unsuccessfully ran for President of the United States. They include Shirley Chisholm in 1972, Elizabeth Warren in 2020 and Nikki Haley in 2024.

Although by 2026 women had made great strides in reaching multi-millionaire status in industries--including entrepreneurship, CEO's of Fortune 500 companies, music entertainment and movie actors--that were previously dominated by men, they should stay cognizant that the tide could always turn and opportunities for women could see a drastic decline in every industry. Donald Trump during his second term as President of the United States tried dismantling numerous civil rights and voting laws and parts of the Constitution, and by doing so could disenfranchise women and minorities.

In everyday life, women face challenges uniquely attributed to their gender. For example, an increasing number of women receive diagnosis of breast and uterine cancer. Younger women experience gynecology, pregnancy and childbirth health-related issues while older women deal with side-effects of menopause. Women are disproportionately victims of rape, incest and other sexual assault compared to men.

In the entertainment industry, women who reach their 30's may find it harder to secure lucrative gigs as models, leading actresses and video vixens and instead resort to doing voiceovers and supporting acting roles as elderly mothers or even grandmothers. Men, on the other hand, commonly secure modeling and leading acting roles well into their 50's and possibly 60's. Ageism discrimination exists regardless of a woman's beauty. This is why so many women resort to "simple" medical procedures such as Botox injections to reduce the appearance of wrinkles to extreme life-threatening surgeries such as liposuction and gastric bypass.

In summary, if you are a woman, even though another woman may not be your biological sister, remember we have more in common than we may realize. We need to support and encourage each other and not let jealously and envy cloud our vision and our missions. We are all part of the same sisterhood.
