We all know what life is, but what is l-y-f-e? Lyfe is life with a special flair and brilliance. It's more than just getting up five days a week to work a mundane job from 8 to 5, then coming home to eat dinner, then figuring out what to wear the next day and then going to sleep.
Lyfe is making everything you do an adventure. It means getting up out of bed and singing in the shower. Changing up your breakfast routine from eating yogurt with blackberries a couple days, eating veggie omelettes a couple days, eating Belgium waffles one day and throwing in a wild card breakfast. When the weather is nice, walk from home to your destination, or if it's too far away, park far away and allow time for a brisk stroll to get your blood flowing and your mind activated.
Enjoying lyfe means not sitting around home waiting for people to call or visit you. You can choose when to pick up the phone and invite your family and friends to go to lunch or dinner; or go bowling, hiking or for some other physical activity; or to see a play, movie or concert; or go shopping or to a local event. Or if no one else is available or if you want some "me" time, find places to go and things to do alone.
Enjoying lyfe means doing more of whatever you love. If you love travelling, set a goal to travel out of the country at least once a year. If you love the mountains, see about getting a timeshare at a log cabin nestled in a hideaway. If you love the ocean, rent a beach house big enough for 4 or more people and bring some friends and family along. If you love cooking or baking, perfect your own recipes and create a YouTube channel where you show viewers how to prepare the ingredients and cook or bake the dish from beginning to end.
You're never too old to start living lyfe. All it takes is being unafraid to make your own rules and do things your way. It could involve taking risks and possibly encountering setbacks and consequences, but lyfe should always be an adventure. There's no need for dull moments. Train your mind to see the goodness even in the worst of times. Still, in the end, life is short and we should all enjoy the good times before they become memories and we should let the bad times serve as stepping stones to something greater.
